The annual Japanese food and culture related festivals and events taking place across the UK makes for an exciting Japanese Events calendar in October. You can find the date and details of each in our Japanese Events in October calendar below.
In London, a couple of festivals to highlight in October include ‘Japan Matsuri’, the biggest annual festival of Japanese food and culture, which you can enjoy with friends and family during the day, and ‘Ura Matsuri’, a fantastic festival of live performances by Japanese artists based in the UK, which takes place in the evening. For those outside of London, you can celebrate Japanese culture at ‘Japan Day’ in Manchester and for anime enthusiasts, Kotatsu is holding ‘Japanese Animation Festival’ in Cardiff and Aberystwyth.
Meanwhile, if you’re interested in Sake and other Japanese alcoholic drinks, there’s the ‘Drink Japan’ exhibition where you can taste a variety of the finest sakes, shochu spirits, chu-hi cocktails, beer, whiskies and wines from Japan’s top breweries as well as getting the chance to know more about the products from the artisan producers and importers.
For those who are more into Japanese food, you can indulge in the superb Japanese inspired ‘Afternoon Tea’ served in the lounge of Nobu Hotel London, or you might like to try your hand at Sushi Making in High Wycombe.
